Consultant Urology Surgeons with an interest in Upper Tract Laparoscopy and Pelvic Oncology Surgery x2

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is an innovative and forward thinking NHS organisation. Ysbyty Gwynedd (Bangor Hospital) is already the established North Wales Centre for Gynaecology Oncology Surgery, with a fantastic track record for patient outcomes, but we are seeking to revolutionise our Urology Services through the development of a Complex Pelvic Cancer Centre further enhanced by the imminent development of Robotic Assisted Surgery.

Key to achieving our ambitious goals is the appointment of two Consultant Urologolgical Surgeons with an interest in Upper Tract Laparoscopy & Pelvic Oncology Surgery. Candidates with subspecialty interests in Laparoscopic/Robotic upper tract & pelvic oncological surgery are encouraged to contact us for an informal discussion about your requirements, aims and aspirations.

Working with excellent colleagues in Urology Services, this is a great opportunity to work in a progressive department.

Candidates will be on the Specialist Register, have CCST’s or recognised equivalent or be within 6 months of obtaining it at the time of interview. For individuals who are appropriately qualified but yet to join the Specialist Register, a locum appointment may be feasible.

The Hospital is superbly located in North Wales, with its areas of outstanding natural beauty, yet still within easy reach of Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. So you can forget city commuter traffic, and enjoy a breath-taking commute across North Wales. When you are not working, you will have the opportunity to discover a vast national park, purpose built mountain biking trails, breath taking coastal paths, food festivals and the world class sports adventure around every corner.

Applicants are encouraged to contact the hospital and meet prospective colleagues. Virtual meetings will be supported wherever possible to minimise non-essential travel.
