ARGYLL AND BUTE HSCP

CONSULTANT IN CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY

£82,669- £109,849 per annum pro rata

A full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist post is available due to the retirement of the existing Consultant. The successful applicant will provide clinical leadership within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) alongside the Clinical Lead for CAMHS and other senior members of the team, deliver high quality clinical care and promote a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency approach to the delivery of care.

This post could be based within Lochgilphead or Helensburgh. Peripheral clinics are currently held in Oban, Campbeltown and Dunoon. The direct clinical provision to Dunoon is likely to decrease in the future as, due to service redesign, funding has been provided for a further consultant post in this area (0.3WTE). Site provision to the rural areas is under review and we are keen to further develop the use of teleconference facilities to improve the quality and accessibility of the service to areas some distance from Lochgilphead.  Active engagement in local, regional and national CPD will be expected.

Argyll and Bute offers unparalleled opportunities for outdoor pursuits and an excellent quality of life. Argyll and Bute is a wonderful place to live and work, and an ideal place to raise a family, with local schooling of very high standards.

Successful candidates must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register with a Licence to Practice or within 6 months of obtaining CCT at time of interview.

Part time and job share applications are welcome.

Informal enquiries should be made to: Brian Reid, Service Manager (01586 559072 or 07768697810).

Closing date for applications: 20th August 2020
