Locum Consultant in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology
This is a full-time Locum Consultant post designed to support the provision of a high quality infection management service in Nottingham, augmenting the existing Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases services and contributing to antimicrobial stewardship through the appropriate diagnosis and management of infection. The Microbiology Laboratory is based at the QMC Campus however clinical duties will be required at both QMC Campus and the City Hospital Campus. Infectious Diseases is based at City Campus
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the provision of a comprehensive Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases service, including laboratory duties, results authorisation and interpretation, clinical and antibiotic advice, patient consults, ward rounds and MDTs, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control, clinical governance, teaching and training, and research.
Applicants will be required to have full GMC Registration and be eligible to be included on the specialist register. UK trained applicants should also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
Any consultant who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full-time, will be eligible to be considered for the post on a part-time basis. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
