Applications are invited for a Consultant Paediatrician post at St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey. Ashford & St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the largest provider of acute services to residents of Surrey, totalling more than 380,000 people.

Our main catchment area is North West Surrey, including the towns of Chertsey, Woking, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Ashford and Staines-upon-Thames, along with parts of Hounslow and Surrey Heath.

The post holder will be part of a team of 16 Consultant Paediatricians and will participate in the acute Attending (1 in 10) and On Call rota (1 in 8) and undertake weekly General Paediatric and Rapid Access Outpatient Clinics.

Although the post is geared towards General Paediatrics we would welcome candidates with a special interest in either Paediatric Oncology or Paediatric Cardiology. Our Paediatric Cardiology Service has links to Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and during 19/20 the Paediatric Cardiology Service saw circa 50 new GP referrals as well 116 Consultant initiated referrals, with transition to adult services in place from the age of 16. Our Level One Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit has shared care primarily with the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust as well as other tertiary centres and is led by a Consultant Paediatrician with interest in Paediatric Oncology who is supported by two Specialist Nurses (both less than full time, however one is a Nurse Prescriber) and Specialty Doctor currently has 23 active patients.

St Peters Hospital is based just outside Chertsey in the green county of Surrey and close to local attractions such as Thorpe Park, RHS Gardens at Wisley, Mercedes Benz World and Windsor Castle. We are also close to the extensive motorway network, being close to junction 11 of the M25, and thus close to the M3 and M4 as well as being relatively close to Heathrow. Woking is just 4 miles away and is a main line station with very regular non-stop trains to London Waterloo in just 25 minutes, a door way to our vibrant capital city.
