Applications are welcome for the above permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh Cancer Centre is the regional specialist cancer centre for South East Scotland with a tertiary catchment of around 2 million people.  Our services span a number of sites with the specialist centre based at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, with significant services also delivered from St John’s Hospital, Livingston and oncology outreach services provided to neighbouring Health Boards.

It’s a truly exciting time to work at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. We are rapidly expanding and transforming our services, facilities and team of specialists. A considerable number of new posts have already been filled this year.  A £38m upgrade of the Cancer Centre is underway and we are designing a new world class specialist cancer centre to be located on the Western General Hospital site.

The Edinburgh Cancer Centre has a well established reputation for delivering high quality research in partnership with the University of Edinburgh.  Our partners have committed to support us in delivering our ambition to become internationally recognised as a leading Cancer Research Centre.  We are well placed to deliver this ambition.  The University of Edinburgh IGMM is co-located with our specialist centre and we are building a rapidly expanding research programme and Clinical Academic team spanning all our specialties.

Edinburgh is an historic, vibrant capital city with a wonderful cultural scene. It has outstanding schools and universities and a truly exceptional quality of life. There are also lots of attractions for families and wonderful surrounding countryside and coastline.  The rest of the UK is easily accessible with Edinburgh Airport and two major train stations on our doorstep.
