Clinical Career Development Fellow x 2 (Fixed Term)
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
The University of Cambridge is ranked the world's second-best university in 2019 by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, with a reputation for research excellence across a broad range of disciplines. The University has identified cardiovascular disease as a major research priority, and this has been endorsed by the recent award of a British Heart Foundation Research Excellence Award of £6 million (2019-2024).
The Cambridge BHF Centre of Research Excellence (BHF CRE) brings together a wide range of cardiovascular research groups across the University of Cambridge and affiliated institutions including the Wellcome Sanger Institute. More information about the Centre's aims and main research themes can be found here: https://www.cardiovascular.cam.ac.uk/research/cambridgecre.
We are now inviting applications for clinical career development fellowships. These 2-year fellowships are available for outstanding postdoctoral clinicians in basic biomedical science or disciplines outside traditional biological science working at the interfaces of disciplines, particularly where adoption of techniques outside cardiovascular science can accelerate basic and translational research.
The award will include full salary and £15K pa towards other costs, and individuals will be supported to apply for additional funding and become competitive for external Intermediate Research Fellowships by the end of their Fellowship.
Successful applicants will have a strong record of research and its communication in a relevant subject. The post holders will need to be able to work independently as well as in active collaboration with multi-disciplinary partners.
Informal enquiries about these posts can be directed to the Centre Director, Professor Martin Bennett (email@example.com) or Centre Manager, Dr Tammy Dougan (firstname.lastname@example.org)
