Consultant Cardiac Surgeon with an interest in Mitral Valve Surgery
Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is looking to appoint a cardiac surgeon with an interest in mitral valve surgery and having had some some exposure to minimal access approaches.
The appointed individual will be expected to work within current flexible structures of the Mitral Team which is formed by 6 surgeons. The hospital has a Di Vinci robot with a burgeoning robotic assisted mitral and coronary service and the appointee will be expected in time to contribute to the programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, rated Outstanding by the CQC in 2016 and 2019. The hospital is one of the largest stand-alone trusts of its kind in the UK providing specialists cardiothoracic services for the North West of England (2.8 million pop.) with 15 cardiac surgeons delivering around 2000 cases per year through 8 operating theatres and a large critical care area with 40 beds. The Trust is committed to supporting all services lines through strategies for research, innovation and quality improvement.
