Brompton Hospital

Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a whole time Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with Expertise in Cystic Fibrosis at Brompton Hospital.  This is a replacement post.

The successful applicant will join physicians to provide specialist Cystic Fibrosis management, evaluated as outpatients, day cases and inpatients. The major clinical meetings are the main CF Multi-Disciplinary Meeting ward round, which generally lasts for 2 to 3 hours; this covers the rotational periods of 3 weeks, on ward service, ambulatory care and clinic delivery.  There is also the monthly Cystic Fibrosis and Chronic Lung Infection research meeting as well as the weekly grand round held in the Respiratory Directorate.

The appointee will provide a clinical service in cystic fibrosis in accordance with clinical and legal requirements, at a standard in keeping with the role of the department as a national and international clinical leader in the field.

The appointee would be expected to co-develop the service, integrating advances in diagnosis, management and digital services, informing colleagues of these developments.

Applicants are required to be fully registered Medical Practitioners and must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the Register within six months from date of interview for the post.
