Our Client

Our client provides specialist treatment and rehabilitation for adults with acute or long-term neurological conditions, including brain injury as well as those with complex physical, cognitive or behavioural support needs.

The Role

You’ll be an experienced Medical Consultant joining the service in its early stages, meaning you’ll have significant influence over the development of the medical department, supported by a multidisciplinary team of Doctors and other healthcare specialists.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support for the neurorehabilitation care services across the site and create a climate which encourages teamwork stimulates innovation while delivering safe, effective, high-quality care, patient outcomes and rehabilitation goals.
  • Provide professional leadership, clinical expertise in the running of the Hospital, acting as the lead consultant
  • You will be required to provide support and advice to medical staff and hospital management on clinical issues.
  • To visit acute hospitals to assess patients with complex needs to assist the MDT team.
  • Working in close liaison with other senior teams and services within the Hospital as well as having continuing responsibility for the care of patients.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  • Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT
  • Assess referrals of service users
  • Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis & treatment
  • Lead on Service development including clinical governance, audit and research
  • Lead the implementation of risk assessment & risk management across the unit
  • To keep abreast of developments in healthcare and specifically neuro rehabilitation and make recommendations on how new and innovative ideas can be implemented.
