Public Health Consultant
Brighton and Hove City Council is recruiting a Public Health Consultant to hold a senior role in our dynamic and high performing Public Health Team.
This senior Public Health role requires strong leadership skills to drive action to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. The role has a specialist focus on sexual health, substance misuse, mental health and suicide prevention, and the health and wellbeing of local children and young people.
Brighton & Hove is an exciting and vibrant place to work on public health and we have a reputation for delivering innovative approaches and helping to make health and wellbeing everyone’s business. As a member of the senior management team, you will help lead public health commissioning and service provision, support the Director of Public Health and provide strategic advice on public health to the council, health and care system and wider partners across the City.
Covid-19 has had a massive impact locally and will continue to shape our work long into the future and has placed our work right at the heart of the City’s priorities. This will be a challenging role with an expectation of fast paced delivery and an adaptable approach on the part of the post holder.
Candidates who are successful at interview cannot take up the post unless they are registered with the GMC (with a license to practice) or with UKPHR. Shortlisted candidates must already be the relevant register or, if they are completing their training or going through the UKPHR accreditation process, must have documentary proof that registration will be complete by the point at which they take up the post. For those in training, the FPH Training Programme Director will provide evidence and for potential UKPHR registrants, UKPHR has agreed to do the same.
