Consultant Cardiac Surgeon with Special Interest in Aortic Surgery
Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is looking to appoint an innovative and motivated cardiac surgeon with a specialist interest in all aspects of aorto-vascular surgery. The appointed individual will be expected to work within current flexible structures of the Aortic Team which is formed by 4 other surgeons.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, rated Outstanding by the CQC in 2016 and 2019. The hospital is one of the largest stand-alone trusts of its kind in the UK providing specialist cardiothoracic services for the North West of England (2.8 million pop.) There are 15 cardiac surgeons delivering around 1900 cases per year through 8 operating theatres (including a hybrid suite) and a large critical care area with 40 beds. The Aortic service in Liverpool is one of the largest in the country performing all aspects of open and endovascular aortic procedures.
