About our Department

Like the UK NHS, the Isle of Man Health Service is free at the point of delivery. This post may be suited to someone who has completed their foundation training but would like further experience in a small but supportive Emergency Department prior to committing to joining a specialty training programme. The hospital is situated in the capital of the Isle of Man and equipped to the very latest standards with an Education and Training Centre and library situated in the grounds.
Our training centre called Keyll Darree comprises lecture theatre, well stocked medical library, training facilities and a state of the art simulation lab which is operated by trained simulation practitioners. Frequent simulation based surgical training programmes are run from the lab as well as drills to practice emergency procedures.
The Terms and Conditions of service on the island for this post are essentially the same as in the United Kingdom with enhancements such as automatic annual incremental pay rises.
