EMERGENCY & TRAUMA CENTRE ROYAL DARWIN & PALMERSTON HOSPITALS
We are currently recruiting emergency specialists to work in the Emergency & Trauma Centre of Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals.
We are a cohesive, progressive team of 25 consultants, 35 trainees, 35 SHOs, plus interns and medical students, supported by 180 emergency nurses and in house allied health and mental health teams. We are dedicated to excellence in patient care, emergency medicine education and research.
Royal Darwin Hospital is the tertiary referral centre for the north west of Australia, covering some of the most remote communities on earth, with a catchment area of over 1 million square kilometres. The case-mix is unique with a young population (average age 29), and the highest per capita rates of acute rheumatic fever, TB, blunt and penetrating trauma in Australia. Royal Darwin Hospital is affiliated with the Australian National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre for disaster operations in South East Asia and offers APLS, ALS, MIMMS, Australian Trauma Team Training and other courses.
Darwin is a vibrant, tropical, cosmopolitan city with a population of 200,000, boasting excellent access to world heritage national parks in Kakadu, Litchfield and the Kimberley. The lifestyle is laid back and friendly with an emphasis on outdoor leisure activities, particularly camping, bush walking, cycling, and fishing.
Estimated total remuneration up to $426 326 (base salary commences at $184 961 - $226 326 pa depending on level of experience plus penalties) and we offer an attractive remuneration package, with relocation reimbursement, initial onsite accommodation, 7 weeks recreation leave, 2 weeks of study leave annually plus sabbatical and long service leave.
