At UHL, we are working to achieve three things. We want to provide the best possible health care to all our patients. We have a turnover of £1.4 billion and 18,000 colleagues and we provide care in our three main acute sites, seven community hospitals and in patients’ homes.

We have already spent £150 million in the last five years to improve our services. We are part of the National Hospital Programme and will soon receive more money to help make care across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland even better. Part of this is our commitment to digital improvements and to deliver an electronic patient record system.

As well as having regional and national reach with our services, we also host a Biomedical Research Centre providing world class research and we have strong relationships with our three local universities, University of Leicester, Loughborough University and De Montfort University.

We are proud to work in Leicester, which is the largest and fastest growing city in the East Midlands. It is also the first plural city in the UK, where there is no ethnic majority. We have a diverse workforce and we look forward to working with you too.
