Where people and progress matter

Swansea Bay UHB oversees the well-being of approximately 390,000 residents across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot regions, with an annual budget of roughly £1 billion. Our dedicated team of around 12,500 professionals plays a vital role in this mission.

Our trio of major hospitals, Morriston and Singleton in Swansea, along with Neath Port Talbot Hospital in Port Talbot, offers a comprehensive spectrum of services. Complementing these, we have a community hospital and primary care resource centers to extend clinical services beyond the main hospital walls.

In our commitment to comprehensive care, we collaborate closely with primary care independent contractors. GPs, opticians, pharmacists, and dentists form a crucial part of our health ecosystem. We're proud to host 49 GP practices, 72 dental practices including orthodontists, 31 optometry practices, and 92 community pharmacies.

Mental health and learning disabilities services are seamlessly integrated into both hospital and community frameworks. Our Morriston Hospital houses the renowned Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery, contributing significantly to the broader UK network of burns and plastic surgery units.

Morriston Hospital also holds distinction as one of Wales' two specialist cardiac surgery services. Our services extend to cleft lip and palate, renal, fertility, and bariatric surgery. We're steadfast in providing forensic mental health services that cater to a vast community spanning South Wales.

Our reputation for groundbreaking research and innovation thrives through our strong partnerships with Swansea University. We're proud to be a driving force in advancing medical knowledge and care delivery.
