About the Trust  The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides acute and community health services to more than half a million people living in the Wakefield and North Kirklees districts of West Yorkshire.  We offer services in three main hospitals – Pinderfields (Wakefield), Dewsbury and Pontefract – as well as in a range of community settings such as health centres, clinics, GP surgeries, family centres and in people’s own homes. In addition, the Trust provides two specialist regional services, in burns and spinal injuries. 

• In 2018/19:
  • There were over 260,000 attendances to A&E
  • Over 130,000 patients were admitted 
  • Patients attended more than 480,000 outpatient appointments
  • Nearly 6,000 babies were delivered
  • There were over 300,000 face-to-face contacts by our adult community nurses/therapists

From mediaeval York to cosmopolitan Leeds you can brush up on your history whilst indulging in some retail therapy, or visit the Hepworth - the largest art gallery outside of London. The motorway network in Yorkshire provides easy routes to other parts of the UK and the train gets you to central London in less than two hours.
