I think that this article is somewhat ironic, being issued at a time when the revelations from "Climategate" and associated investigations clearly show a situation that is properly labelled "When bias is bias".
Reporting of science by the BBC in particular is biased by an environmentalist agenda - alternative views are suppressed or undermined even where backed by solid science. Perhaps the BMJ would be more respected if it devoted some space to articles which address this topic.
