Rapid Response:

Erratum

The authors would like to correct some text in the paragraph "How are
AAAs managed?"

The sentence "Patients with aneurysms greater than 5.5cm should be
entered into an ultrasound surveillance programme" should read "Patients
with aneurysms less than 5.5cm should be entered into an ultrasound
surveillance programme."

This error entered the article during the editorial process and the
authors would like to apologise for its inclusion. We hope that this rapid
response and the erratum to be published in the print edition of the BMJ
will serve as clarification that small aneurysms (3.0-5.5cm) can be safely
managed by ultrasound surveillance. Large aneurysms (>5.5cm) should be
considered for elective surgical repair.
