Prescription for Innovation
23 July 2009
Most calls for innovation ring hollow. Typically, such calls amount to a
marketing campaign for new ideas as to how to sell the same old widgets. But
innovation is more than just the same old tired worn-out ideas and products.
Innovation requires a willingness to dispense with “the tried and true” and
instead the courage to embark on new ideas. Let’s re-define innovation to
mean something fundamentally new and different, and not simply a scheme to
empty our shelves of inventory.
