In some respects the Cochrane Collaboration prefigured Web 2.0. Open
and collaborative in style, it employed the Web technologies available to
it at the time.
I wish though that it would make use of the technologies now becoming
available. But it is locked into a fruitless commercial publishing model
despite being almost entirely funded by the public.
