Rapid Response:

Another Crisis!

This sounds like the concerns raised when it began to appear that boys were more intelligent than girls. As long as the intellectual superiority of boys was taken as read, there wasn't a problem. As soon as it seemed that this was reversed, an educational panic ensued. As long as the medical profession is dominated in numbers and in hierarchical superiority by men, everything is fine. If it seems that women might be taking over in numbers (though not yet in terms of professional status), it becomes a crisis.
