?occult infection

I am replying as a GP who has seen the vast majority of opinion that
this is Kawasaki syndrome. Whilst deferring to those with more experience
is there not a possibility that this might be a bacterial infection such
as osteomyelitis/septic arthritis/ staph renal abscess or a variety of
secondary infections following on from an initial apparant self limiting
infection?

What to do--as a GP, refer to the secondary sector realising that we are
beyond primary care managment, and to discuss with the parents the reasons
for this.
