Rapid Response:

OP and BSE

I am not a medical practitioner but I thought my comments may be of
interest to your readers. Some time ago there was a programme about BSE,
in particular the simillarity between a condition found in cats. It was
found that cats were developing a condition simmillar to BSE following
exposure to an organo phosphate pesticide. The complication came in that
the exposure was to the parent not the actual animal showing the symptoms.

If this is the case then we could start to see a progressive increase in
BSE/CJD as exposed parents (animals and human) start having children
having been exposed to an OP perhaps many years before.
I have tried to find out more about this link but without success perhaps
your readers have better sources of information than myself.
