Patients urged to lobby MPs over emergency department crisis

The Royal College of Emergency Medicine has urged patients to write to their MP asking for action to tackle the crisis facing emergency departments across England.1

The college said that it had made the intervention in light of the latest performance figures from NHS England,2 which show that in February just 76.9% of major emergency departments achieved the target to treat 95% of patients within four hours.
