Mental health issues can give rise to emergency/life threatening situations/long term morbidity and increased suicidal incidents.
Unlike physical ailments where a person cannot be forced to get treated without consent, mental health issues do not permit such logic as the person is not mentally capable/fit enough to decide as when mental fitness is not there.
I strongly feel that on humanitarian grounds the Act should not be repealed and should be continued undiluted.
