Re: NHS staff march against passport checks

I have recently moved to Belfast having worked in France for the last couple of years. I am a British citizen born in Glasgow. I went to register with a GP here and needed my passport, a pay slip and a letter from my bank. As it took 3 days to register with the GP I went to A&E where the treatment was great but a couple of days later I had a letter asking me to take all my documents to the 'overseas' office at the hospital. I later attended an out patient appointment after which the nurse said that this lady wants a word - she also was from the 'overseas' office and wanted a copy of my contract - luckily it was in my office in the hospital so she escorted me up to the office and I gave her a photocopy of the contract.
