93 year old US doctor is sentenced to 10 years in prison for opioid distribution

A Las Vegas doctor, aged 93, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined $2.5m (£1.9m; €2.1m) for writing prescriptions for oxycodone, alprazolam (Xanax), and other drugs for no legitimate medical purpose.
Drugs prescribed by pain specialist Henri Wetselaar, a Dutch born veteran of the second world war, were distributed through a network of dealers and addicts to more than 230 people, the federal court heard.
