Young people with diabetes show no drop in admission rates, audit finds

Hospital admission rates among children and young people with diabetes in England and Wales have not fallen over three successive years despite overall improvements in care, the National Paediatric Diabetes Audit has found.1
The audit of hospital admissions, published by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, also found that about 23% of new cases of type 1 diabetes had diabetic ketoacidosis at diagnosis, a figure that has remained stable from 2012 to 2015.
