UK adds hepatitis B to infant vaccination schedule

Hepatitis B vaccine is being introduced for newborns from the autumn in the UK, making it one of the last countries in Europe to introduce a universal hepatitis B vaccination programme for infants.1

All babies born on or after 1 August 2017 will be eligible for Infanrix hexa, which protects against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis, and disease caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib).
