One in six older adults experiences some kind of abuse, a meta-analysis of elder abuse has found.1
Published in the Lancet Global Health, the study found that 141 million adults worldwide aged over 60 were subjected to psychological abuse (11.6%), financial abuse (6.8%), neglect (4.2%), physical abuse (2.6%), or sexual abuse (0.9%).
