Doctor struck off for misconduct is allowed back on medical register

A doctor who was struck off seven years ago by a fitness to practise panel of the General Medical Council for dishonesty in a job application has been reinstated by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, the body that in 2012 took over the task of disciplining doctors.
It is rare but not impossible for a doctor to win back a place on the medical register after erasure for misconduct. Mohamad Kataya has become the 10th in five and a half years to do so.
