The European Medicines Agency’s new website giving open access to clinical data on medicinal products has gone live (https://clinicaldata.ema.europa.eu).
The agency said that that the first two drugs whose clinical reports could be accessed on the site are carfilzomib, for the treatment of multiple myeloma, and lesinurad, a gout treatment.
It intends to add all clinical reports on all drugs submitted to the agency on or after its open access policy came into force on 1 January 2015.1 An indication of the scale of the operation is that for these two drugs alone the data comprise 260 000 pages and include 100 separate clinical reports.
