The BMA has invited the health secretary for England, Jeremy Hunt, to take part in a symposium on seven day NHS services as it starts work to oppose the imposition of a new contract for junior doctors in England.
In a statement the association said that the meeting on the quality and consistency of healthcare delivered across the week was planned for November. It said that it would include health professionals, royal colleges, patients’ organisations, and professional associations.
