Medicaid expansion is associated with improved access to care and self reported health, US study finds

Expansion of the US health insurance plan for those with limited financial resources, Medicaid, was associated with a significant increase in access to primary care services, lower out-of-pocket costs, and improvements in self reported health among low income residents in two states that had elected to expand the program, compared with those living in a state that had not, a new study found.1
