My Body Back Maternity Clinic, the UK’s first antenatal service for women affected by sexual violence, opened at The Royal London Hospital on 29 July.
The clinic is jointly organised by Barts Health NHS Trust and the rape support charity My Body Back Project. It’s an extension of a clinic that has been running since August 2015, where specially trained staff offer cervical screening, contraceptive advice, and testing for sexually transmitted infections to women who have been assaulted or raped and who might not otherwise come forward for medical care.
