Children who are looked after by local authorities in England are often denied the mental health treatment that they need, MPs have warned.
MPs on the parliamentary education select committee have published a report 1 that raises concerns about the gaps in care for “looked after” children—children who are cared for by their local authority and who may be living with foster parents, at home with their parents under supervision of social services, in residential children’s homes, or in other settings.
