The UK General Medical Council has issued advice to junior doctors on covering gaps in their rotas and has reminded employers of their responsibility to rota doctors safely.
After receiving a number of queries through social media, the regulator issued guidance to doctors who might be asked to cover rota gaps that they believed they could not safely cover.1
