The NHS would be protected from a major trade deal with the United States if the United Kingdom were to leave the European Union, campaigners have said.
At the launch of the Vote Leave group’s Save Our NHS campaign held in London on 6 April, campaign organisers warned of the growing control and influence the European Union would have over the NHS if the country voted to remain in the union in June’s EU referendum.
However, these claims have been strongly rejected by pro-EU campaigners, who labelled them as “scaremongering” and said that the NHS would be protected from trade deals.
