Almost nine in 10 general practices in England struggle to find locum doctors to fill staffing gaps, a BMA survey has warned.
The poll of 2814 general practices in England (roughly a third of the total number) also found that only one in 10 practices did not need to use locum services.
Almost half of the practices surveyed (46%) reported that they “frequently” have trouble finding locum cover, while a further 40% said that they “occasionally” have problems.
