NHS organ registry considers new way to stop families over-ruling relatives’ wish to donate

More than 500 UK families have blocked organ donation taking place since April 2010, despite knowing or being informed that their deceased relative was a registered donor, new figures have shown.
NHS Blood and Transplant, which released the figures, said that there had been 547 refusals in the past five years, about one in eight of those deceased people who were registered to donate organs. This resulted in an estimated 1200 people missing out …
