NHS trusts have been set an “impossible task” of staying in the black in the current climate of growing demand and small increases in NHS funding, MPs have been told.
Despite a relatively large boost in NHS funding for the coming year it was likely that trusts would struggle after that, NHS staff and organisation representative bodies told the parliamentary health committee during an evidence session on 8 March.
