Canadian Medical Association dismisses second journal editor in 10 years

The editor of Canada’s leading medical journal has left his post amid a “restructuring and modernisation plan.”

On 29 February the Canadian Medical Association’s president, Cindy Forbes, reported that John Fletcher, the editor in chief of CMAJ, the association’s journal, was “no longer with the organisation,” adding that the journal’s eight strong editorial oversight committee had also been “discontinued.”

Forbes unveiled a new four person CMAJ taskforce, under the leadership of the association’s past president, Chris Simpson.
