Women with gestational diabetes should be encouraged to breast feed exclusively for at least two months to reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes, say researchers.
A prospective cohort study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine1 found that breast feeding exclusively for two months halved the risk of diabetes in women with gestational diabetes.
