More than 400 pharmacists will be recruited to GP surgeries by next year

By next year more than 400 clinical pharmacists will provide support to almost 700 general practitioner surgeries and more than seven million patients.
In July NHS England invited applications from GP surgeries for funding to employ a clinical pharmacist in their surgery as part of a pilot scheme. However, because of the overwhelming response from GP surgeries, NHS England has announced that is more than doubling the project’s funding for the initiative from £15m (€21.2m; $22.8m) to £31m.
