Ri Hornung lived in Vienna until he was 4 and then emigrated to England. During the second world war he was evacuated to Cornwall. Having won a scholarship to Christ’s Hospital School in Horsham, he remained there for all his schooling. Despite being offered scholarships for engineering, Ri decided to embark on a medical career.
