Pre-exposure prophylaxis is effective at preventing HIV in high risk gay men, study shows

Daily HIV medicine is highly effective in preventing new HIV infections in gay men who are HIV negative but at high risk of becoming infected, a study has shown. The findings supported adding pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) as soon as possible to HIV prevention measures in men who have sex with men who are at high risk of HIV infection, the researchers said.
