Hidden cameras or recording equipment can be used in certain circumstances if families are concerned about poor care or abuse of people under care, new guidance from England’s Care Quality Commission says.1 However, anyone considering this step should think how it may intrude on other people’s privacy, including other people who use the service, staff, families, and visiting professionals.
