The risk of death is one third higher among people with diabetes in England and Wales than in those without diabetes, the National Diabetes Audit has said, adding that this is due to complications resulting from poor diabetes control.
The National Diabetes Audit1 is the largest yearly clinical audit in the world. It collects information provided voluntarily by primary and secondary care providers about patients with diabetes and measures the effectiveness of their care against national guidelines and standards.
