Rise in reports of sexual violence in hospitals: The number of reports of sexual violence in hospitals has risen by 50% since 2011, an investigation by the Guardian newspaper has found.1 Documents obtained under freedom of information legislation from 38 of 45 police forces in the United Kingdom showed that 1615 attacks were recorded in the three years from 2011, including cases occurring in NHS wards, private clinics, and health centres. In 2013 there were 17 reports of rapes and 124 other sex abuse crimes in hospitals in London.
