In an impassioned speech on 9 June defending his signature legislative accomplishment, the US Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama called the health reform law the “new reality” whose elements have been “woven into the fabric of America.”
“Nobody suggests that somehow our healthcare system is perfect as a consequence of the law being passed, but it is serving so many more people so much better. And we’re not going to go backwards,” Obama said.
